Another Happy Hot Tub Customer in Kingswinford

A review of the Regency Prince Hot Tub

We have just installed a Regency Prince Hot Tub for Phil Jennings in Kingswinford.

Kingswinford is a town located in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands.

We asked Phil to give us an appraisal of both his experience with Award Leisure Birmingham and his new Regency Prince Hot Tub.

Regency Prince Hot Tub

I am very happy with my Regency Prince Hot Tub. We had talked about getting a hot tub for years as I fit Kitchens, Bathrooms and Bedrooms and lots of my customers have a Hot Tub on their patio. One of my friends is an electrician and he said that the hydrotherapy benefits have been really helpful in tackling his back problems. As you can imagine years of fitting kitchens etc have taken its toll on my back and shoulders.

I did lots of research online in to Hot Tubs. I saw that the Regency Prince is a What Spa magazine winner and that got me researching Coast Spas in general. I liked the fact that they are made in Canada so much better for our climate than a cheap Chinese or American Spa.

Don’t get me wrong I love the social side of the Hot Tub but what was especially important to me was the wellness aspect and Coast Spas seemed to offer it all.  I had pretty much decided that I wanted a Coast Spa before I went shopping in store.

I visited Award Leisure Birmingham and met Simon. I was impressed with his product knowledge and decided to go ahead and order the Regency Prince. It is a large Hot tub and was the size and depth I wanted and had all the features that I needed. This included 50 jets, waterline lighting, music….it is fully loaded.

I felt that although I went over my initial budget, the Regency Prince is a cut above the rest and worth the extra, I felt that I got great quality at great value for money

So far I have used it nearly everyday and it has already made a huge difference to my quality of life with my shoulder and back problems.

What Do I Need to Consider When Buying a Hot Tub?

Thinking of Buying a Hot Tub?

Buying a Hot Tub is so exciting! Browsing hot tub websites, visiting beautiful showrooms and learning all about the different types of hot tub – but there are also some things to consider before you settle on a model to make sure that the hot tub you choose is a perfect fit for you and your family. Read on for our handy little guide on considerations for buying a hot tub!

How will I get it in my garden?

Hot Tubs are large and awkward, weighing as much as 600 kg unfilled – and that’s without any water in it! It’s important to get a Hot Tub that will fit into your allocated space – but that doesn’t mean that if you don’t have access to your back garden, you can’t have a Hot Tub! Many people have their Hot Tub lifted over their house by crane. To ensure that your installation goes smoothly, it is best to order your Hot Tub from a company that undertakes professional delivery and installation and can arrange crane hire for you from a reputable company.

How do I connect my hot tub to an electric supply?

Hot Tubs requiring a standard 3 pin plug are popular for their convenience – they can just be plugged into any standard household socket. They also tend to be cheaper to buy! The downsides to these types of Hot Tubs are that they will have limited features, lose temperature quickly and be higher maintenance. On the other hand, a Hot Tub requiring a 32-amp supply will have more powerful pump(s), bigger jets that will deliver a much better massage and a more effective heater which will keep the water hotter for longer.

GOOD TO KNOW: Hot Tubs requiring a 32-amp supply will need a dedicated electrical connection from the household electrical supply, installed by a qualified electrician.

What about jets?

A good hydrotherapy spa will offer a range of jets including rotational and directional, as well as smaller jets offering a high pressure and intense flow for a deeper tissue massage.

How many seats do I need?

Obviously, this depends on how large your family or social circle is!

Statistics claim that 80% of the time there’s just 1 person in the hot tub, 10% of the time only 3 or more persons and the other 10% is when there’ll be a small gathering or party!

Choosing your seating will also depend on what you want to use your hot tub for: hydrotherapy or pleasure? Hydrotherapy requires a lounger, higher cool down seats and wrap around, deeper seats with large and powerful jets. It’s always important to make sure that there’s a seat to fit everyone who will be using the hot tub regularly. For instance, are your shoulders comfortably under the waterline or does the water level mean you require a snorkel?

If you need help – break away from the internet and seek assistance at an established hot tub showroom. Hot tubs have been around in the U.K. since the turn of 2000, so choose someone who’s been around the block a few times and know their Hot Tub range inside-out.

Are Hot Tubs expensive to run?

This is THE most asked question from hot tub shoppers. The answer is that while yes, your electricity bills are going to go up (naturally, as you’re running an extra appliance!) it completely depends on the insulation behind the hot tub cabinet. Insulation is normally not standard and Hot Tub models may have different types of insulation available, so it’s important to know the difference before committing. If a hot tub comes with insulation, it will likely be more expensive to buy; however, it will cost a lot less to run! Click here to read our ‘What is the Best Type of Hot Tub Insulation?’ blog.

What is a Plug and Play Hot Tub?

Plug And Play Series

Having a Hot Tub has often been seen as the ultimate luxury, many consider un-affordable. On top of that many think that when installing one in their home, it will require extensive ground work, planning and plumbing. However with the Hot Tub industry revolutionising this really isn’t the case. The arrival of the ‘Plug and Play’ Hot Tub models has certainly helped contribute to the surge in Hot Tub purchasing.

First of all what is a Plug and Play series Hot Tub?

A plug and play Hot Tub is one that runs off a standard 13amp supply, just like the connection you would use for a kettle, or many other appliances around the house. In many cases the cable and plug would still need to be provided by the consumer, however this may eliminate any expense in having to hire an electrician like you would when purchasing a Hot Tub with more jets and bigger pumps, which would require a 32amp supply put in by a qualified electrician.

These spas will also usually take up much less space than a standard Hot Tub, so are perfect for those restricted to space or access, and certainly those who do not want the hassle of upgrading or changing any electrics.

The smaller foot print also eliminates the hassle associated with the installation of a hot tub. For instance with some of the British Hot Tubs Plug and Play Series models, the profile height has been designed so that when it is on its side for delivery, it can fit through a standard gate. This is great for those who may have restricted access, and often eliminates the need for a crane which is of course an extra cost. Many of these Plug and Play models are not too deep, which means they may be considered more aesthetically pleasing than some of the deeper spas so can blend into the garden a lot better than some of the bigger ones – but of course that all depends on your taste! These spas just need to be placed on a solid level base, and don’t require plumbing of any kind as its simple to fill and drain using your hose pipe!

There may be people reading this thinking that because they are living in rented accommodation they can’t have one at all because they may end up moving in a couple years, and it would have to be left at the property and considered to be a wasted investment, but with these spas that is not the case as it is simple to remove and relocate into a new property. And if you choose a quality hot tub with good aftercare service, you can have it for many years and relocate with no issues!

All of these factors have really heightened the surge for Hot Tubbing, with it being more achievable and hassle free than what they were years ago! Whether you are looking for a luxurious massage, hydrotherapy benefits, or just a social hub for friends and family a Hot Tub sure brings couples, friends and families together; designed to suit all needs and budgets, with finance also being available in all reputable stores and dealerships.

The dream of being submerged in hot bubbly water, having a hydrotherapy massage at your fingertips, allowing you to escape from the stresses of daily life whilst being in the comfort of your own home and without time constraints is very much a reality for all!!
