As a non essential business our showroom remains closed to the public at the moment and we are of course looking forward to being able to open again on 12 April with all the other non essential retail if we are permitted to do so under government guidelines.
We are still very much open for business though even if you can’t view hot tubs in person in the showroom. One of the team is in the showroom answering the phone and taking click and collect orders during our published opening hours. This is why if you google us it says we are open even if you can’t come inside the showroom.
We have Covid safe working methods for site surveys, installations, call outs and services so its very much business as usual.
Get in touch if you are interested in a hot tub or any of our other outdoor leisure products. We have loads of great content and video material!
Give us a call on 0121 389 2758
Someone will answer or call you right back during these hours:
Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 6pm
Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday 10 am to 4pm
Since we work Saturdays and Sundays the team take a well earned rest day on Mondays.
We are very pleased to be able to open our showroom again on Wednesday 17 June following the government lifting of restrictions for non essential shops.
We are operating social distancing within government guidelines so please be aware that we have the following systems in place:
only one customer allowed in store at a time (one customer could be one person or a couple who are together) Maximum 2 people requested at once.
Please wait by front door to be served
Please observe the in store signs and floor footprints to observe social distance
Please use the hand sanitizer provided on arrival
Please note that it is recommended to book private appointments for hot tub viewings to ensure you will get as much out of your visit as possible. Appointments will take priority so if you come to store without an appointment and another customer’s appointment is already underway when you arrive we will ask you to book for a later time or to wait. Also display stock is more limited than usual due to high demand we may need to arrange to meet you at one of our other showrooms depending on which model you are interested in.
We are getting a lot of calls asking us if we are open at the moment, even people turning up to the showroom asking to come in. Yes we are open for business, and during the Covid-19 lockdown period we are working at the showroom behind closed doors during our normal working hours.
Unfortunately however this doesn’t mean we can open the showroom to the public. We are in the category of shops that may be allowed to open to the public again on 15 June if the government eases lockdown rules further.
As many of our valued customers know already we are here to look after your hot tub requirements in a number of ways:
We can supply hot tub and pool chemicals via collection from store door or home delivery. Chemicals must be ordered in advance and paid for by card over the phone and collected at pre -arranged times.
Private appointments to view hot tubs can be arranged under some circumstances – please call the store in advance so we can explain the requirements and book an appointment.
We can deliver and service hot tubs following Public Health England safe working guidelines.
The demand for hot tubs has never been higher – so if interested don’t be put off by the closed sign on the showroom door! We are taking orders for our new range of British Hot Tubs now for July/August delivery.
As long as your hot tub is properly maintained and the water chemical levels correctly managed your hot tub or swim spa is a great place to spend self isolation, quarantine or lock down during the pandemic.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued the following guidance:
Can the COVID-19 virus spread through pools and hot tubs?
There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. Source material is available here
The Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) advised the same after consulting with Public Health England. They do remind people of course to practice social distancing and to avoid gatherings with friends and family which would perhaps imply that you should keep your hot tub or swim spa use to members of your own household. You can see what they had to say here.
At Award Leisure we remain open for new and existing customers who need our support with their hot tubs and spas. We have introduced new working practices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff. You can read more on that here.
Some of the ways we can help find your new hot tub or look after your old hot tub include home visits and surveys (practicing social distance), video consultations, personal appointments at the showroom (have it to yourself), contact free installations and contact free hot tub services and call outs. Think Swim Spas are just for swimming? Think again! The size and features on a Swim Spa make them so versatile, that they’re not just for the fitness fanatics!
Have a flick through any Swim Spa brochure and you’ll be greeted with lots of pictures of athletes and swimmers using the Swim Spa as part of their training regime – and they’re not wrong! Swim Spas offer a perfect alternative to installing a full-sized pool into your back garden. If you don’t have Olympic swimming aspirations and you’re wondering if a Swim Spa is worth the investment, read on to see why Swim Spas are for more than just swimming!
If you have a large family or lots of friends, there is no better excuse to get everyone together than a soak in the swim spa! Our Coast Spas Wellness Party Swim Spa has seating for up to 8 adults together, or if you wanted to allow the kids room to play in the spa with the adults relaxing, our Coast Spas Wellness IV features a self-contained hot tub joined to the Swim Spa together in one unit!
XL Hot Tub
What’s better than a standard hot tub? A bigger one of course! Swim Spas can come with all the lighting, jets, and temperature control that a hot tub can, bringing with it all the health and relaxation benefits you can get from a hot tub. Some Swim Spas also feature lounger seating, so you can use your Swim Spa for relaxation just like a Hot Tub.
If swimming isn’t quite your thing, but you still want to use your Swim Spa for fitness, resistance training works excellently. By using the resistance of the water (turning the jets on will increase the resistance), you can tailor your workout to suit you! Below are just a few examples of exercises that work well in a Swim Spa:
Jogging on the Spot: A brilliant exercise for warming up, while working your leg muscles.
Bicycle Kick: Put your back against the wall and hold the top lip of the swim spa. Bring your legs up just under the surface of the water and move them in a circular motion, as if you were pedalling a bike. Keep pedalling for 1-2 minutes for a great lower ab and leg workout.
Chest Flys: Starting in a lunge position (to ensure your arms are just under the surface of the water), place your arms straight out in front of you with your palms touching. Bring your arms out to the side, keeping them straight. Return to the starting position and repeat 10-15 times for a killer chest and arm exercise.
If you prefer to use exercise equipment in your workout, there is a wide range of products available. From exercise bikes and treadmills to poles and trampolines, Award Leisure stock products that will take your workout to the next level.
Don’t be fooled by their name – Swim Spas are so versatile and can be used for much more than swimming. If you want to see how a Swim Spa can improve your family’s lives, get in touch with us to receive a Free buyers guide, and to book your Free, No Obligation Home Site Survey!
Chlorine tablets, regardless of brand, all contain a chemical called Trichloroisocyanuric acid (or Trichlor for short). When used in an acrylic Hot Tub, it can cause severe damage to the shell – if the thermal cover isn’t removed for a few days to vent the gases given off by the tablet, severe bleaching of the plastic occurs.
We advise that if you wish to use a tablet form of Hot Tub sanitation, Bromine is the recommended option; either as a Frog Cartridge or a Bromine Tablet. However, we do stock Chlorine tablets for customers that own LayZ Spas, swimming pools, or other non-acrylic spas. If you still wish to use Chlorine to sanitise your spa, we do stock Spamate Chlorine granules which do not contain Trichlor and are safe to use in acrylic spas.
Award Leisure strongly advise that Trichlor is not used with any Coast Spa, and Coast Spas themselves agree. Use of the tablet is quite apparent and obvious to detect and will also not be covered by your warranty.
In the age of Social Media trendsetters and YouTube tutorials for just about anything, the internet is a vast wealth of collective knowledge and experiences, and absolutely should not be underestimated for its usefulness in finding something new and learning about it – so should you use it to buy a Hot Tub?
The short answer is – yes! Nothing screams ‘convenience’ more than searching for a luxury Hot Tub from the comfort of your sofa, without having to travel to your local Hot Tub Showroom and hope they have something suitable for you. So where should you go on the internet to find a Hot Tub?
Finding the right online Hot Tub Company
It is SUPER important that you choose a reputable company if you are going to buy a Hot Tub from the internet. There are many companies operating solely online that are less than scrupulous, luring customers in with what looks like a ‘good’ deal and a warranty that seems too good to be true – and that’s because in most cases, it is. Most of these companies can offer these incredible deals because they buy cheap spas that break down soon after purchase and have no intention of staying in business long enough to honour any warranty. Sound like a nightmare? Fear not! There are good guys out there selling Hot Tubs on the internet, we promise!
The best way to go about choosing a Hot Tub company to buy from is to not get sucked in by pretty pictures of Hot Tubs – study the company first. Look at how long they have been in business, which should give you a pretty good indication of how capable they will be to honour any warranty they offer. Another great feature to look out for is whether the company install and service their Hot Tubs themselves, or contract it out to a third party; if they have their own dedicated service team, it is likely that the company know their Hot Tubs well, and will be able to help you with any issue that you may encounter!
We understand that buying anything online is a big commitment, so we want to make sure you have everything you need to find the perfect Hot Tub without even getting off the sofa. All our Hot Tubs and Outdoor Leisure products are available to view and to buy online right here, on Awardleisure.com. Finding a good Hot Tub Showroom
It’s no secret that Hot Tubs are expensive. They are a luxury product for a reason, and for most households, they are a pretty major investment which requires a lot of research. The internet is great for ordering an emergency 5 kilo bag of gummy bears (trust me, they’re out there), but most people would be more hesitant to order thousands of pounds worth of a Hot Tub without first seeing the model in a showroom and learning as much as they could from an experienced salesperson. If this sounds like you, then a good old-fashioned showroom is the way to go!
Award Leisure are the largest Hot Tub retailer in the UK with 6 nationwide showrooms, so you shouldn’t have to travel too far to come and see our huge range of Hot Tubs! All of our showrooms are fully stocked with a wide range of outdoor leisure products (not just hot tubs!) so you can get everything you could possibly want to create the perfect retreat.
